Derek

Derek Ryan (the world’s deepest tenor) is a native of Tipperary, where he still resides with two rowdy boys and the poor woman who was unfortunate enough to marry him. The only member of the Two and a Half Tenors with an authentic Irish accent, Derek began his vocal training with Dr. Veronica Dunne at the Leinster School of Music. Despite chronic low self esteem as the middle child of 12, he was lauded by Gay Byrne on the “Late Late Show”, has toured extensively in the US and performed in Carnegie Hall in New York. His inspiration in life is “fresh bread and homemade strawberry jam”. He has co-written and starred in two shows; a Paul Robeson tribute show that toured the country to critical acclaim and “Echoes of the Past”, a musical and narrative Irish history. Derek has performed in and directed many charity concerts for the Cystic Fibrosis Association and the Irish Cancer Society. He is a keen amateur photographer and a fanatical GAA supporter. He plays a good game of tennis and is a enthusiastic horseman. He is much noted for his interpretation of Richard Carpenter songs.

Nyle Wolfe sang his first concert at the tender age of 6 performing “White Christmas” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” in his local church. A simple “Sing and Get Paid for It!” ad in the Cork Examiner led to his professional debut in Cork’s Opera House and a job as a “Bluecoat” in Trabolgan. He made his television debut with RTE aged 21, dressed as Dorothy Gale. He is the winner of several major national and international awards and has delivered pizza professionally in cities around the world. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and the Opera Studio in Zurich, Nyle was soloist and captive at the Musiktheater im Revier, Germany for six years. He met his wife while bluffing an Irish accent as a butler at the Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquets. They have since built their own castle in Co. Limerick, where they are rearing three children. He has made several opera and musical recordings in his bedroom as well as for RTE, BBC, Sony and Naxos. He is very unpopular with hotel managers around the world for his surprise outbursts as “Marco the Opera Singing Chef”, a cabaret act he has performed for the last 10 years.

Ryan

Ryan Morgan has worked variously as a shop assistant, law lecturer, a busker, in a deep freeze, as a research consultant to the UK Department of Health, and as a paper boy (not in that order). He now works as a professional singer. Described as "a remarkable stage presence" (Jo Kerrigan, Irish Examiner) and "a sweet tenor" (Donal O'Riordan, Sunday Business Post), Ryan has had the good fortune to sing in some of Ireland's finest venues, including Cork City Hall, the Ulster Hall, the National Concert Hall, the Everyman Palace Theatre, Kilruddery House, Dromoland Castle, Thomond Park, Dublin Castle and the corner of Cork's GPO. Recently, he had the great honour of singing for President Michael D Higgins at Cobh's Centennial Lusitania commemoration, and has performed for Ministers of State, foreign dignitaries and the inaugural voyages of cruise ships. Among his qualifications are Master of Music, Master of Law, Doctor of Philosophy and at one point he was a milk monitor (until he dropped the crate). He lives in Cobh with his beautiful wife and three children. He still maintains a Welsh accent. He's not putting it on.
